4G connection is now available to A1 subscribers even in the metro

A1 Enterprise established 4G coverage in the Minsk Metro system. High-quality voice calls in VoLTE format and high-speed mobile Internet have now become available at all existing stations and all the stages between them.

 

The project was implemented in partnership with the beCloud infrastructure operator engaged in the construction of a unified LTE network in Belarus. A1 subscribers can now use the Internet even on the go. Thus, the company subscribers will now be able to experience faster resource and content loading. Furthermore, VoLTE support ensures the ability to simultaneously receive voice calls with an instant connection and high-quality voice transmission, and access the mobile Internet.

 

The launch of the 4G network for A1 subscribers was preceded by beta testing, which was carried out in February 2024 at the Kastrychnitskaya and Kupalawskaya stations. An important part of the project implementation was setting up a smooth transition between 3G and LTE networks: third-generation communications from A1 will continue to operate alongside the 4G connection in the Minsk metro. It is worth noting that the necessary infrastructure has also been established at the stations of the Zelenaluzhskaya line, which are currently planned for opening. Once this takes place, their passengers will also be able to enjoy high-speed Internet on their mobile devices on the go.

 

To start using 4G and enjoy all the quality connection benefits, you need:

  • enable 4G (LTE) in your phone settings;
  • enable VoLTE mode in the settings to ensure better quality of voice calls;
  • make sure that your SIM card supports LTE (if necessary, replace the SIM with USIM or eSIM);
  • make sure that the phone supports LTE (change the phone if necessary).
