58 842 hours and 152 trees: charitable activity 100 Hours with A1 summarizes results
Charitable activity 100 Hours with A1 after 50 days of activity closed it’s door on 20 July. All together participants have managed to prematurely achieve it’s major joint target, i.e. 50 000 hours of trainings. As a result A1 will transfer BYN 50 000 to International Social Association SOS Children’s Village while 152 most active participants will be appreciated with personalized trees. The final count of the project has 58 842 hours of running, swimming, walking and cycling.
Charitable initiative united over 2 thousand fans of active lifestyle from all over Belarus. Everyone out of 152 participants who has trained over 100 hours will receive an unusual present: personalized trees will be planted this autumn on the territory of SOS Children’s Village Borovlyani. Vladimir Gubich from Gomel is the absolute records man of this season as the one who contributed 1607 hours to the final count including 1079 bonus hours for motivation of his friends to join the initiative. A genuine cup made of glass and wood was handed over to the leader on his wedding day which coincided with the summing up of the charitable initiative.
«Not by a coincidence ecology has become a key topic of 100 Hours with A1 this year since it is hard to imagine an active lifestyle of any man of today without it. According to the principles of ecologic, social and corporate governance, (ESG) A1 actively develops numerous “green” initiatives. We are grateful to all participants of the activity who over 50 days not only have improved their health condition but also through joint efforts have taken care of the environment and those who need support», - commented Nikolai Yushkevich, First Deputy General Director.
Thanks to every participant SOS Children’s Village Mogilev will get solar panels and air source heat pump installed by the beginning of the next academic year for the funds allocated as a result of the activity. These facilities will generate green energy for the village at any time of the year.
«Thanks to 100 Hours with A1 our dwellers will very soon be able to use eco facilities at SOS Children’s Village Mogilev and take walks at renovated green area at SOS Children’s Village Borovlyani. And this means that hundreds of kids and adults will learn about alternative sources of energy, their practical use and will feel the support of thousands of emphatic Belarusians”, - noted Tatiana Burova, General director of SOS Children’s Village.
There were three prize winners identified in every of four disciplines of 100 Hours with A1. In the category Walking they are Oleg Gaidyuk (756 hours), Sergei Spodnikailo (642 hours) and Veronica Fedorenko from Gomel (473 hours). In the category Cycling the best contributors are Ruslan Livanovich from Borisov (343 hours), Dmitry Berezyanko from Zhlobin (273 hours) and Alexander Vasilevsky from Novopolotsk (271 hours). In the category Running the leaders are Pavel Valuyev from Minsk (95 hours 15 min), Yuri Shevtsov from Gomel (95 hours) and Ivan Leonov from Zhitoml (90 hours). In the category Swimming the most active were Ruslan Livanovich (113 hours) as well as Minsk dwellers Yana Lipskaya (72 hours) and Alexander Dmitriyev (54 hours).
A significant contribution to the total count was made by 8 sports clubs. Swimming club Olympiyets made the biggest contribution of 2 626 hours followed by SWIMMINSK (1 420 hours) and AquaStars from Brest (1 300 hours). Children’s football club A1 Junior dedicated 1 180 hours to 100 Hours with A1 while running club Run4Fun located in Minsk, Baranovichy, Grodno, Rogachev, Oshmyani and Pinsk – 650 hours. Results of other swimming clubs are the following: Yellow Submarine (Gomel) 934 hours, Sports Club Beli Medved (Polotsk) 771 hours, Finval (Minsk) 499 hours.
