FE "VELCOM" to kick off Students Programs

Minsk, April, 30, 2010 – FE "VELCOM" (velcom and PRIVET trade marks) continues its cooperation with the leading higher education establishments of Belarus. From May, 1, for the purpose of supporting talented youth and qualified staff training a new initiative headlined as "Students Programs", kicks off for 4 and 5-year students. The framework envisages the enrollment of young specialists for internship and on-site practice at the company with an option of subsequent employment.

Support of the talented youth, assisting in employment is one of the foreground objectives of company CSR policy. Company top-management is interested in attracting young personnel and fostering a team of professionals in finances, controlling, logistics, and marketing. Initiatives within “Students Programs” aim to provide opportunities, identify precisely the profile of a would-be profession; and in case of success – get employed by velcom.

"Students Programs" comprise a number of branches:

  • "Find Yourself" Program  – is internship for 4 and 5-year students of higher education establishments. Program goal – training future company managers, highly qualified experts in marketing, finances, and controlling. Within the internship students get a unique chance to get a deeper insight in choosing a narrow-profile activity, as a young specialist gets rotated through a couple of company units of his/her major and, therefore, will be able to choose the area of interest. Throughout the program the participant will have a chance to acquire experience in a team of professionals and be involved in real FE "VELCOM" projects, alongside with studies at university.
  • "Best Idea" Contest  – is a possibility to demonstrate knowledge in solving business cases on multiple topics – marketing, communications, logistics, finances. The winner and the author of the most efficient solution will receive prizes.
  • Summer internship  is a perfect chance to try hand in real business environment, being encircled by FE velcom professionals and use summer holidays not just for personal development but also as a bridgehead to career growth.
