HSPA+ in all 3G velcom network
May 5, 2010 HSPA+ technology became available to the subscribers in Gomel and Zhlobin. Functioning of the technology is provided by all 3G base stations in the region. Thus velcom is the first operator in Belarus to offer the advanced third generation HSPA+ technology throughout 3G coverage area.
HSPA+ launch in Gomel and Zhlobin has become the logical development of 3G|3G+ velcom network. The gradual introduction of HSPA+ allowed to carry out successful testing of the technology and to debug the network in the real load. The complete HSPA+ network rollout was realized inMogilev,Minskand then throughout the whole 3G coverage area in the shortest time. Thus the company has again confidently confirmed the status of the technological leader in the industry.
According to the plan of the further development of 3G|3G+ velcom network all new base stations planned for installation will function in HSPA+. That is one of the advantages thanks to which the operator has chosen as a vendor of the equipment one of the leading European telecommunication companies Nokia Siemens Networks.

The technology is available to all velcom subscribers within 3G coverage area provided that they have equipment supporting HSPA+ and "Mobile Internet" service. At the moment the company offers three types of3G modems, including one with HSPA+ support.
