A1 accepts applications for a new contest of ideas among high schoolers named The First

On 2 February 2021 there starts a new season of the project The First among Belarusian high schoolers. 9-, 10- and 11- graders will be able to participate in an educational program and present their ideas how to make the world a better place to live. Ten authors of the most fascinating ideas will speak at Belarusian language youth conference TEDxYouth@Minsk 2021 and will be awarded with iPhone 12.

Participation in the contest and educational program requires application on www.generation.A1.by. High schoolers can come up with own ideas in any of five areas proposed: Technology, Culture, Inclusivity, Ecology as well as in the new area of Urban Planning. There will be master classes and meetups with experts organized for every topic where project participants will be able to develop own idea, acquire useful knowledge, develop presentation and public speaking skills, teamwork.

According to the contest guidelines every participant shall film a small video about an own idea (up to 3 minutes), share it in any social network (TikTok, Instagram, VK, YouTube, FB, OK, Twitter) with a hashtag #generationA1 and send the link to generationA1.2021@gmail.com. Applications shall be submitted before 30 April 2021.

The winners will be selected in May and ten high schoolers who will reach the final will speak at traditional youth conference TEDxYouth@Minsk 2021 in September and will be awarded with iPhone 12 64GB.

Social – educational project The First is realized by A1 under support of TEDxMinsk organizers. The First is held in Belarusian including master classes and public presentations by the finalists since one of the goals of the contest is proliferation of the Belarusian language and promotion of it’s popularity through TED community. This year The Teacher for Belarus program participants will serve as ambassadors of the First. It will create more attention to participation of high schoolers from the regional schools.

About The First

Contest of ideas The First is being realized by A1 throughout three seasons since 2018 under support of TEDxMinsk organizers. The purpose of the contest is to raise interest of the schoolers to Belarusian language and culture, technologic innovations, inclusivity, ecology and urban planning, help high schoolers in their choice of the future profession, attract their attention to socially important problems, implement informal formats into education, find and support talented youth.
