A1 will help the Minsk Infectious Hospital buy artificial lung ventilation apparatuses and COVID-19 PCR-based diagnostic devices

A1 will provide charitable support to the Minsk Infectious Hospital, a health institution that is currently providing assistance to patients with COVID-19. The funds will be used to purchase the necessary equipment such as artificial lung ventilation (ALV) apparatuses, PCR-based diagnostic devices, coronavirus diagnostic test systems, protective garments for health workers and medicinal products.

The decision to make a charitable donation in the amount of 50,000 rubles was made by A1 following consultations with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

"In these hard times – both for our country and for the entire world – we would like to support Belarusian health workers who are currently working in difficult conditions and save other people's lives posing their health at risk. As a socially responsible company we want to make our strong contribution to equipping the hospital with modern equipment for coronavirus treatment and diagnosis", said Nikolay Yushkevich, A1 Belarus First Deputy General Director.

The funds will be sent to the City Clinical Infectious Hospital Health Institution and used to purchase equipment, medicinal products and other means, which are necessary for timely diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19.

"We express our gratitude to A1 for prompt assistance to our institution. Today we welcome any support and will be able to use charitable assistance to purchase equipment for laboratory diagnosis and provision of assistance to patients with the coronavirus, diagnostic kits, personnel protective equipment and medicinal products", said Nikolay Yurkovsky, Chief Medical Officer of the Minsk City Clinical Infectious Hospital.

Earlier, A1 has already announced additional measures to support Belarusian residents by providing free calls to the hot lines of the Belarusian diplomatic missions for company subscribers who are currently in roaming in 56 countries worldwide.

In addition, A1 provided Belarusian residents with free calls to the hot lines regarding the prevention of the infection caused by SARS-CoV-2.
