А1 almost doubles the capacity of 4G network in Gomel

А1 has implemented a project for LTE network operation improvement in Gomel. Additional facilities deployed for the 2,600 MHz band has made it possible to achieve a significant increase in throughput and data transfer speeds for users from this regional center.

These changes will predominantly affect 4G standard (LTE) mobile Internet users: instantly, the number of sectors operating in the 2,600 MHz band is virtually doubled: from 112 to 201. This step ensures more stable access to high-speed mobile Internet using LTE technology for a larger number of simultaneous connections. This is especially important in large cities with large or high population densities.

Those A1 subscribers whose SIM cards and mobile devices support this technology will be able to use 4G communication. To check if your device and SIM card are ready for 4G network, you can use a USSD request: *181# call. You can find out more about the coverage area and the average speed of A1's 4G network on A1's official website at the link, as well as in My A1 app. You can read about the features and advantages of the 4G Communication Standard on the special web-page by clicking the link as well.

The project was executed in partnership with the infrastructure operator beCloud engaged in the construction, operation and rollout of a unified LTE network in Belarus. As part of this cooperation, A1 provides beCloud with its technical infrastructure and its transport network based on hybrid, radio relay and fiber-optic communication lines for the installation of equipment that supports fourth generation communications.
