А1 develops a green office: a garden on the rooftop, waste segregation and digital docflow

An own garden appeared on the rooftop of A1 headquarter at Internatsionalnaya 36 in the very city centre of Minsk. A1 garden is the next phase in the development of A1 green office as an eco-stream of the corporate social responsibility.

A dedicated gardener is responsible for tending it, however, any A1 team member is welcome to help if desired. Green salad, bell pepper, parsley, mint, wood strawberry, etc. will grow there in a few months. An internal online voting will be organized to decide what to do with the harvest.

Since 2020 ecology became one of the key streams in A1 CSR policy and that is why we decided to adopt our working environment and implement a concept of green office. For this purpose a larger part of internal documentation was digitalized, there appeared special containers for waste segregation and sorting. And with A1 garden not only the office but also it’s rooftop became green, - commented Nikolai Bredelev, head of A1 PR.

Even though the garden is located in an unusual place in the city centre, it does not impact the harvest: it’s location, unpredictable weather conditions and air quality were considered by the project team. High density metals in exhaust gases are concentrated on the level of the third floor and the garden is situated on the tenth level which is free from detrimental compounds and dust. All plants got a certified soil and only pure drinking water will be used for irrigation.
