А1 installs bicycle parking facilities around Belarus: the first racks have already appeared in Minsk city centre

А1 started installation of bicycle parking facilities across Belarusian towns. The first facilities have appeared today in Minsk at the entrance to A1 headquarters and by flagship store and Inclusive Barista coffee bar at Internatsionalnaya. Over the course of several years in big and small towns across the country there will appear additional parking facilities for eco transport.

“Reduction of negative environmental impact is one of the key principles A1 is guided by in it’s operational activity. That is why we have decided to continue upgrade of cycling infrastructure with a new prime focus on ecology. This project is initiated and realized in compliance with company policy in ecologic, social and corporate governance (ESG). Being concerned by reduction of carbon footprint, comfortable mobility of the cyclists and city cycling infrastructure all in all, A1 arrived at decision to install ergonomic cycling parking facilities across the country”, – said Nikolai Bredelev, head of А1 PR.

Local cycling movement was invited for development of original parking design. Thus, for example, the experts proposed to rubberize the edges of the racks for avoidance of any scratches on the surface of the bicycles. Combinativity of the elements has been well-thought-out too: parking facilities can fit together in any urban environment. Every rack is autonomous and a bicycle can be parked on any of four sides. That way any object looks organic in the city landscape.

In the late 2020 A1 adopted it’s eco policy 2021-2025, i.e. an official documentation specifying major principles and obligations in the area of environmental protection. A1 supports the trend of sustainable development in all areas of it’s activity including social and inclusivity projects.
