More than 1200 localities: A1 expands 4G coverage for Brest region

A1, telecom, ICT and content services provider, and becloud, infrastructure operator, started expanding the 4G network in Brest region. After completion of the first stage of the work, high speed mobile internet on LTE technology became available on 55% of the territory of the region, covering more than 1,200 settlements.

In the course of the network expansion project more than 100 base stations operating in the frequency range of 800 MHz have already been launched in Brest region. In the near future their number will exceed 300.

4G network is deployed on a large scale in Zhabinka, Ivanovo and Kamenetz districts – each district is equipped with LTE technology in more than 80% of the territory. At the same time, in Kamenets District the coverage area increased more than 12 times, and the number of residents who got access to the fourth generation communication increased 3.5 times.

Zhabinka district is the leader in terms of the number of people living in the 4G network coverage area – 99.9% of residents here have access to it. It is followed by Ivanovo (98.8%), Baranovichi (98.2%) and Brest districts (97.6%).

Those subscribers, whose SIM cards and mobile devices support this technology, will be able to use 4G communication. You can check whether your device is ready for the new network in the Settings menu by selecting the appropriate options – 3G/4G or LTE. A symbol will appear on the screen confirming that you can use the 4G data service.

A1 subscribers can check whether the SIM-card supports 4G network by means of a free USSD-request *181#call. If the SIM-card is outdated, it can be replaced free of charge at any of the company's stores or dealerships.

Brest region became the fifth region of Belarus, where the project of expanding the coverage area of the fourth generation for A1 subscribers was implemented. Prior to that, similar work was carried out in Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk and Minsk regions. After the work in Brest region is completed, the 4G coverage area in Belarus will increase to 67%.
