A1 will safely utilize more than 15 000 smartphones thanks to participants of the activity aimed at collection of unnecessary mobile devices

A1 summarized the results of the project for exchange of old mobile phones into bonuses. From 30 May till 7 August participants of the activity turned in over 15 thousand unnecessary mobile devices to A1 stores. 10 participants were awarded with 10 new smartphones as a result of a lucky draw.

 

Under the terms of the action any participant could (subscribers of any mobile operator were welcome to take part in the activity) pass unnecessary phones, tablets, smart watches or electronic books to A1 for further safe disposal. For every gadget there was a game code for participation in weekly smartphone lucky draw provided and for 5 or 5+ gadgets additional promo code for free VOKA subscription All Inclusive for 1 month.

During the activity, over 6 thousand gadgets were collected only in Minsk. In the regions maximum number of devices was collected in Gomel, in particular about 1 400 items. Other most active participants come from Bobruisk, Brest, Grodno and Pinsk. A number of contributors turned in more than 100 and even 200 smartphones. At the same time, the most popular company store appeared to be located in Brest at prospect Masherova 17 that had collected 578 used gadgets. The main prize 10 Xiaomi 11T 8GB/128GB were presented to 10 winners of the lucky draw.

Despite completion of the activity anyone can still surrender unnecessary mobile devices in any A1 store within the framework of it’s strategy for ecologic, social and corporate governance (ESG). Every A1 store has an organized system for collection of used devices for their further safe utilization. Properly functioning and actively used gadgets do not expose any hazard for human beings and environment. However, after being buried in landfill sites they become toxic through release of cobalt, lithium, nickel and cadmium compounds and other unsafe chemicals that pollute water and land. At that, plastic, base and precious metals cannot be reused.
