Clearer sound and nuanced intonation: A1 improves voice transmission quality

Private Customers / About Company

A1 and MTS have begun using HD codecs for voice message transmission at the interconnection point between their networks. The implementation of this technology allows for the transmission of speech with virtually no distortion, as well as clearer sound quality and maximum voice recognition.

The deployment of HD codecs at the traffic handover point between the A1 and MTS operator was carried out with the participation of RUE Beltelecom.

The distinction between HD codecs and basic standard ones lies in the expansion of the transmitted frequency range from 300–3,400 Hz to the 50–7,000 Hz band. By switching to a more advanced technology, extraneous sounds are significantly reduced, and individual intonation nuances and speaker timbre are conveyed, creating a fuller and more vibrant sound scape.

High-quality voice transmission does not require any special settings on the mobile device. All subscribers whose equipment supports HD codecs will make calls to the partner's network using the new technology.
