A1's Internet of Things is now used in the project for increasing safety of user electrical installations in the Gomel Region

A project for increasing safety of user electrical installations on the basis of the Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is implemented in the Gomel Region. The solution for electrical grids makes it possible to equip transformer substations with alarm system and protect people from electrical shocks.

Technical solution includes an uninterrupted power supply unit, a board with a micro controller and a communication module. The security device works on the basis of A1's Internet of Things, which makes it possible to transfer data remotely. The device controls opening of doors of the transformer substation, arming and disarming with an electronic key or remotely by the operator, activates alarm in case of break-in, as well as measures voltage at the transformer substation and transfers data from its equipment. All this information is recorded in the log and displayed on the computer of the grid area operator, making it possible to send a crew of electricians to inspect the substation or accelerate localization of the fault.

Today, several hundreds of such devices are already installed in the Gomel Region, in the area serviced by the branch "Mozyr Electrical Grids" of RUE "Gomelenergo". Operation throughout the year not only allowed the enterprise to increase the security level significantly, but also to save money. The use of the A1 module NB-IoT in the appliances made it possible to make solutions several times cheaper with regard both to the used equipment and significantly reduced monthly payments for communication.

After successful pilot, the project aimed at increasing security of electrical installation for the population on the basis of IoT network continues.
