MOVA of Belarus: A1 will place a series of art-installations in six largest cities

On the International Mother Language Day 21 February A1 presented a new project thanks to which and the initiative The Power of the Mother Language in spring 2020 there will appear a series of unusual art installations in Minsk and largest Belarusian cities like Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno, Gomel and Mogilev. It will be a composition of interactive sculptures that make up a word MOVA.

Monumental text installations will serve as spots for comfortable chillout since as a matter of fact it’s about outdoor furtiture made of wood and metal. The said art objects are created by a well-known Belarusian sculptor Pavel Voinitsky. According to his concept MOVA serves as a communication spot where anyone can meet and talk, taking a comfotable seat on sculptured letters.

Local charm of each of six regions will be reflected by a specific color of each installation – the idea of the project comes from the concept of the national colors created by a distinguished designer, artist and poet Mikhail Anempodistov in his book The Color of Belarus as well as on the research work of the largest Belarusian ethnographer Mikhail Romanyuk who reconstructed the colors of the traditional folk garments of various Belarusian regions.

“We took art installations in order to emphasize the beauty and comfort of the Mother Language and how it changes everything around us for the better. It’s not a coincidence that A1 engaged in realization of this project since presentation of the national phenomena and support of the Belarusian language are one of the key directons of our company’s activities. Through encryption of it’s name in the word MOVA, we have visually emphasized this priority. Upon installation of all art-objects, we are planning to provide a free WiFi from A1”, - commented Nikolai Bredelev, head of A1 PR.

Considering the fact that Minsk is a geographic, social and cultural centre of the country that combines particular qualities of all regions, it will be reflected through all basic colors that characterize our country, i.e. blue, green, yellow, red and black. The exact location in Minsk is still to be selected.

“Black and red are basic colors of all object-d’art and they will appear in all cities. Other shades are absolutely different, emphasizing distinctive features of every region. All colors were selected not coincidentally – an abundance of unique local peculiarities was taken into account upon design of coloristic combinations – for example, those associated with the nature: green parks of Gomel region, grey swamps of Palesse, blue lakes of Vitebsk region, etc.”, - commented Pavel Voinitsky.

Thus, art-installation in Brest features a balanced mix of green, different shades of blue, red and black. It will appear on the intersection of ulitsa Sovetskaya and Francis Skarina embankment. MOVA in Vitebsk created in colors of creative association UNOVIS will appear in front of the bridge of 100th anniversary. Objects d’art in Grodno will be produced in yellow, different shades of blue, red and black colors and are planned to be located at Mostovaya ulitsa. At ulitsa Kirova in Gomel there will appear a composition of letters in blue, yellow, grey, red and black. And Troitskaya embankment in Mogilev will be decorated with an installation of green, blue, yellow, red and black colors.

“The said project aims to popularize native language, unveil semantics of the Belarusian language in a new way through art installations. It’s uniqueness is a combination of utilitarian and creative functions of 3D installations. It is worth noting individually that the project has a great touristic potential for all cities objects d’art will be installed at”, - noted Zahar Dudinsky, initiator of the project The Power of the Mother Language.

Art-installations in all cities will appear in spring.
