Users of A1 mobile internet in Mogilev will notice substantial changes: the company has implemented a project to develop 4G network in the city

About Company

A1 has significantly improved the quality of the LTE network in Mogilev. Thanks to new facilities launched in a 1,800 MHz range, the 4G capacity and coverage have increased substantially. It has significantly increased the throughput of the network and the data exchange rate in Mogilev.

The improved A1 4G network parameters in Mogilev and the launch of new sites mean more stable access to high-speed mobile LTE internet and better work of new generation VoLTE voice communication for a larger number of users in various city districts.

The project was executed in partnership with the infrastructure operator beCloud engaged in the construction, operation and rollout of a unified LTE network in Belarus. As part of this cooperation, A1 provides beCloud with its technical infrastructure and its transport network based on hybrid, radio relay and fiber-optic communication lines for the installation of equipment that supports fourth generation communications.

The previous large-scale launch of new facilities in A1 4G network in Mogilev was implemented at the end of 2021 as part of a partnership project of A1 and beCloud. Back then, the Mogilev region became the first Belarusian region with 4G communication available for 100% of the population. Since then, the partners have directed their efforts at developing and improving the existing network: the 2024 plan is to increase the number of 1,800 MHz sites and to launch new 2,600 MHz sites.

Those A1 subscribers whose SIM-cards and mobile devices support this technology will be able to use 4G communication. You can check if your device is ready to operate in the new network in the Settings menu by selecting the appropriate options: 3G/4G or LTE. Upon that, a symbol will appear on the screen, confirming the device's ability to use the data transfer service in the 4G network.

To check whether their SIM cards support the 4G technology, A1 subscribers can use the toll-free USSD request *181#. In response, the operator will send an SMS with the result of the check of the smartphone and the SIM card. If your SIM card does not support 4G, it can be replaced free-of-charge in any of the company stores or dealership centers.
