A1 Supports #CyberLaw: Your Shield in Online World, a National Contest for Kids and Teenagers Which Has Kicked Off in Belarus

ESG

#CyberLaw: Your Shield in Online World promotes digital literacy and a culture of safe Internet surfing among teenagers. This initiative is not only a way to teach the basics of cybersecurity to schoolchildren but also to make it possible for them to propose their own digital security solutions.

The organizing committee emphasized that the main objective of the project is to make kids and teenagers involved in the creation of actual digital products and to form a generation of "digital ambassadors." The participants are expected to increase their cyber awareness and to share their knowledge with their peers thus mitigating cyber threats.

Children aged 10 to 17 are eligible for participation in the contest. A contestant may not submit more than one project work; collective project works are not allowed. All materials must be in compliance with copyright law. The kids are invited to develop innovative anti-fraud solutions. These may be in a form of a mobile app, video, an infographic material, software, or any other digital form. The hashtag #CyberLaw is mandatory.

The project works may be submitted until May 3 inclusive. The board will select 30 finalists who will receive gifts and commemorative awards. The winners will be awarded diplomas and will receive valuable prizes, such as smartphones, VR glasses, wireless earphones, smartwatches, and other useful gadgets. The organizers also have the right to establish additional categories and to award special prizes. To participate, you must fill in the registration form, agree to the processing of personal data, and submit your project work at: konkurs@center.gov.by. If the file size exceeds 10 MB, it must be uploaded to cloud storage (Google Drive or Yandex.Disk) with a download link.

The contest is held as part of cybersecurity decade and is timed to coincide with the International Children's Day. The contest is organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information. It is also supported by A1.

For A1, cybersecurity is one of the focus areas for sustainable development. The company is committed to comprehensive activities that help making the digital space safe for all Belarusians, with a focus on protecting children and teenagers, who tend to be especially susceptible to cyber threats.

A1 is consistently implementing long-term initiatives in the field of digital security: from #Take5seconds nation-wide awareness campaign and digital volunteer movement #ionline to You Online, a club of responsible influencers aimed at protecting children and teenagers online. The support of the #CyberLaw contest is a natural continuation of this work; it involves teenagers in creating own anti-fraud concepts and solutions and fostering a culture of safe online behavior.
