Download the entire internet: A1 offers one week of free 4G internet to all it’s subscribers

А1 launched 2600 Mhz radio frequency band on about 1.5 thousand base stations provided by the infrastructure operator beCloud. Starting from 8 November 2022 A1 subscribers will be able to test changes and experience a higher quality of mobile internet in 4G network that will be free for one week.

4G technology for all A1 subscribers in Belarus was mainly delivered via 1800 MHz band which remains utilized now too: this is a kind of a basis that secures 4G coverage around all populated areas while 2600 Mhz frequencies enable increase of network capacity, i.e. number of subscribers that can use it concurrently. This is especially vital in cities and regions with high or large population densities. With a launch of a new band 4G through for A1 subscribers has tripled while data transmission rate has increased markedly thanks to the ability to use frequency aggregation and multistream data transmission method MIMO 4x4 activated on a few base stations.

Over 400 4G base stations supporting 2600 Mhz band are located in Minsk while the others in all areas and majority of regional centres. Gomel, Mozyr, Kalinkovichy, Mogilev, Bobruisk, Brest, Baranovichy, Vitebsk, Orsha, Novopolotsk, Polotsk, Grodno, Lida, Volkovysk, Borisov, Molodechno, Soligorsk, Slutsk and Pinsk dwellers will be able to experience the sharpest improvement in 4G network quality. Data transmission rate will significantly increase and voice communication will gain in quality.

Meanwhile a new frequency band will be launched not only on current but also on new sites country wide built by infrastructure operator beCloud on A1 sites upon further network development.

A1 subscribers will be able to experience the visible changes: throughout the whole week they will be able to use 4G network unlim in volume and speed.

How does it work? All A1 private customers irrespective of the tariff plan assigned will be able to activate a promo package of unlim data Download Entire Internet! to be used in 4G network. Activation can be done via My A1 app (section Services, tab Available) that enables to control personal account balance and manage all services (including activation of new features) 24/7 without any need to visit A1 store. Application is available for download from AppStore, Google Play and AppGallery. At that, the package can be also activated by users of a few tariff plans designed for corporate customers without closed user groups.

During seven days upon activation of promo package, data traffic within the current tariff plan will neither be used nor charged and mobile data will be provided unlim in volume and speed (including tethering). Many customers will experience significant changes especially if their tariffs presuppose speed restrictions. After all 4G mobile data quality (for example, stability of high resolution video streaming or playback) and download speed are close to possibilities of fixed net. Yet there is one significant advantage: you are not tied to wires or Wi-Fi passwords and can work, stay online or consume content wherever you are.

4G communications will be available for A1 subscribers whose sim-cards and mobile devices support the said technology. Device readiness for 4G network operation can be checked in the menu’s Settings selecting corresponding parameters like 3G/4G or LTE. At that, the screen will display a symbol confirming possibility to use data transmission.

A1 subscribers can check if their sim card supports 4G network via USSD request *181#. In case the sim card is obsolete, it can be replaced at any company store or dealer centre.
