160 trees are planted in SOS Children's Village Borovlyany following the «100 hours with A1» charity campaign results

160 trees and bushes were planted in SOS Children's Village Borovlyany. Each of the seedlings planted is a reward for the most active participants of the «100 hours with A1» charity campaign, who gained at least 100 hours of training in 50 days. The names and surnames of all record holders are indicated on a special sign installed in the new green recreation zone.

The current season of the «100 hours with A1» campaign is closely related to the idea of environment protection. When the participants managed to achieve the main common goal of 50,000 hours of training, A1 provided sponsorship to the SOS Children's Villages International Public Organization in the amount of 50,000 rubles. These funds were used to purchase and install 300 photovoltaic panels and an air heat pump in the SOS Children's Village Mogilev. Such equipment can provide the Village residents with heat and electricity all year round.

The champions of the project who exceeded the personal mark of 100 hours of training have been rewarded with personalized trees. It was decided to plant them in the SOS Children's Village Borovlyany, where there was a need to arrange a place for family recreation and outdoor walks.

«Today, the principles of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) are the A1's work standard. This strategy defines the responsibility that we take in order to seek the most sustainable development paths, care for the environment and address important social issues. We are glad that each of these areas has been successfully implemented in the large-scale «100 hours with A1» charity campaign, which more than 2000 participants joined this year», said Helmut Duhs, A1 CEO.

160 trees and bushes in total, among which there are barberries, birches, thujas and junipers, occupy an area of almost 200 square meters. It used to be an unexploited wasteland, but thanks to the efforts of professional landscape architects, this place has been transformed.

«This new green corner of the SOS Children's Village Borovlyany will become not only a wonderful recreational area for all its residents and guests, but also an opportunity to further nourish their interest in the topic of ecology. Our organization has been applying green principles in its activities for many years and strives to involve indifferent partners in this process. This is exactly what A1 has become for us. Thanks to the company, an important eco-project has been implemented in the SOS Children's Village Mogilev, where a renewable energy system has been installed», said Tatyana Burova, General Director of the SOS Children's Villages Belarus International Public Organization.

«100 hours with A1» charity campaign started on June 1, 2021 and lasted for 50 days. The participants were to gain 50,000 hours of joint training in four disciplines: running, walking, swimming and cycling. The goal was achieved ahead of schedule, and the final counter of the project recorded 58,842 hours of sports activities.
