#ionline for everyone: digital volunteer movement launched a special version of their portal for the blind and visually impaired users

For the World Internet Day digital volunteer movement #ionline launched a new version of their website adapted for the blind and visually impaired users. This project was initiated by A1 for everyone willing to teach their relatives and friends get familiar with advanced technologies and use mobile internet.

Over a half a year since the foundation of the movement a few hundreds of people became it’s members as volunteers. Now thanks to a special version of the portal for the blind and visually impaired more and more people are able to join the project by clicking an eye pictogram image in the upper right corner of the main page ionline.a1.by.

A new version of the site features a standard set of hot keys and offers additional settings enabling opening and closing of any image, changing the size and type of the font, color of the page and intervals within paragraphs and letters. Every move on the screen is automatically commented by a voice support and it enables as comfortable as possible access to ionline.a1.by content for the users.

Upon registration, any user and any subscriber of any mobile operator may become a volunteer, find someone in need for help in familiarization with modern technologies and gain 1Gb traffic to the account of the trainee.

Training can be provided to anyone, i.e. parents, grandparents, their friends and own buddies. The portal of #ionline offers a variety of useful materials for it’s volunteers in the sections like Useful and Instructions advising what to teach and how. The main page has a link to Yanonline telegram channel of a 27-year-old Yan who always has a tip how to educate oneself in use of modern technologies.
