#ionline–guide: A1 and UNFPA released a mobile technologies guide for elderly people
A1 and United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) in Belarus entered into a partnership agreement in order to develop a joint program aimed at digital literacy among elderly users. This partnership starts with a release of #ionline-mobile technology guide for beginners.
Digital voluntary movement #ionline was founded in Belarus in October 2020. Over this period of time thousands of people across the country joined the project. A1 engages into this project in compliance with international principles of ecologic, social and corporate governance ESG in order to provide any volunteer with an opportunity to help people who only start to familiarize with mobile technologies. Nowadays under support of UN Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) in Belarus the project gains scalability in order to attract more elderly users into the movement #ionline and increase digital literacy in virtual and offline formats.
How to activate mobile internet, download apps, register in social networks, do shopping and make utility payments, appointmenst with a doctor, search for favorite films – the guide designed by A1 and UNFPA contains instructions that will help internet beginners to gain insight into how to use modern technologies in their daily life.

From the very beginning, elderly participants were the target audience for our volunteers. Therefore, we are happy that our partnership with UNFPA in Belarus will facilitate in extension of the scale of our project and help those who needs it. #ionline-guide is a good start to our joint work”, - noted Nikolai Bredelev, head of A1 PR.
#ionline-guide is available free of charge at any of 85 A1 stores across Belarus for elderly people upon any consultation or purchase of Lenovo Tab M10 (BYN 110 discount is granted to all project volunteers). E-copy of the guide is also available for everyone up to on the movement page.
«Mobile technologies are one of the most accessible and effective means for active life irrespective of the age and residence. We thank A1 for the opportunity to unite our efforts in aid to elderly people. Preliminary tests of #ionline –guide among specific non-governmental organizations showed a big demand for digital literacy. In the short run we plan to hand over a part of the print run into 206 territorial branches for social service», - said Olga Atroschenko, head of UNFPA office in Belarus.
Besides, under the framework of A1 and UNFPA agreement there will be an educational program for social workers launched in order for the volunteers of the movement #ionline to be able to teach their students with the help of the guide how to use mobile technologies that make life more comfortable.
