The Green Schools of Belarus took part in an online lesson held by the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History and A1
On October 24, A1 and the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History held a major online lesson for the Green Schools throughout Belarus to tell children about the experience of safe disposal and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment and to present a new part of the environmental comic book "Eva and Seva. To the other side of the screen." This time the book was released in digital format in Russian and Belarusian. It is available to everyone at the A1's website.
The children who took part in the interactive lesson were the students of the Green Schools network, an educational project aimed at fostering an attitude of care towards nature among children and teenagers. The project is supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and is directly coordinated by the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History. Currently, over 600 educational institutions have joined the Green Schools project. The children under care of the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children also were able to participate in the lesson. As the lesson was streamed live, it was also joined by students from all over the country.
"It's been a long time since mobile devices became a part of our daily lives, but some people still do not know what to do with gadgets when they break or become inoperable. We teach children how to properly dispose of devices not only for the sake of nature protection, but also for them to develop a responsible attitude towards resources, which will persist throughout their lives. That is why we highly appreciate the A1's initiative to inform children on environmental issues and to support projects aimed at safe e-cycling", noted the representative of the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History.
In this May, the first part of the ecological comic book for children was released by A1. It was the start of a series of stories educating people how they can take care of the nature. In the second part, the main characters, Eva and Seva, suddenly shrank to the size of a grain of sand and managed to get inside a tablet. You can learn about what follows next from the online version.
Operable devices make no damage to people or to the environment but they become toxic when landfilled. Anyone can bring used devices — mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, e-books — to any of the company's stores so that they are safely disposed of later. The company has established its own system for collection of small-sized electronic and electrical equipment.
In addition, A1 regularly implements environmental projects aimed at attracting people to safe WEEE disposal, and holds giveaway events among the participants.
