velcom management informs on the first results of SAP implementation in an interview for Belarus radio station
Denis Filazafovich, Deputy CFO of FE "VELCOM", gave an interview for Belarus radio station on Saturday, May 8. The theme of the interview was SAP system implementation by the company in October, 2009.
During the conversation with the journalist of the radio station Denis Filazafovich underlined that the decision to launch SAP was conscious, and the purpose of implementation of this solution became, first of all, "... conformity with requirements of internal standards ofmobilkom austria groupreporting, which member is velcom, integration into the information environment of the group, as well as desire to automate company’s internal business processes to cut down operational expenses, and hence to save company’s resources and raise competitiveness in the telecommunication market".
Denis Filazafovich told about features of the project realized together with EPAM Systems, having explained that EPAM experts had a task to integrate functionality of SAP system being in operation in mag into velcom business processes and to adjust it taking into account features and requirements of the Belarusian legislation. He noticed that at the moment the solution includes processes of maintaining of accounting, controlling, management of financial streams, logistics, motor transport, as well as underlined that "...all potential of SAP will reveal while implementing narrow applied modules".
Answering the journalist’s question about the advantages of SAP implementation by the company, Denis Filazafovich specified that estimation of the system overall performance will be carried out this year in October, however positive conclusions from realization of this project can be made even now, after six months of the system operation.
Moreover, Denis Filazafovich explained the choice of EPAM Systems as a contractor: "The choice was made on the basis of estimation of realization experience of similar scale projects, professionalism, readiness to work with international partners, ability of contractor’s employees to carry on negotiations with Austrian experts, as well as fundamental knowledge of standard documents without which implementation of the administrative system is not possible. EPAM corresponded to all these requirements. We plan to extend the system and continue our cooperation in the future."
