News of development of GSM network in March
In March, 2010 velcom installed 10 new base stations, so the following settlements were provided with telecommunication: Sushchev of Bykhov district, Mogilev region, and Novye Markovichi of Zhlobin district, Gomel region.
New base stations were installed in Minsk (the area of the streets Leningradskaya, Napoleon Orda and Perekhodnaya), Mogilev (Pushkin Avenue), Svetlogorsk and Zhitkovichi of Gomel region.
Agricultural towns were also provided with GSM telecommunication: near the settlements of Misyantsy of Braslav district, Vitebsk region, and Balashi of Vileika district, Minsk region.
Nowadays 3,265 base stations, 28,430 transceivers in 1,350 settlements of the country are in operation in velcom network. The coverage is in more than 94.1 % of the territory of the country, where more than 98.4 % of the population live (100 % of people, who live in cities and towns).
