News of GSM network development in May

In May, 2010 velcom continued to improve the radio coverage and extend the network capacity in the capital and regions. 8 new base stations were installed in GSM network.
The new settlement, Podgornaya, Baranovichi district, Brest region, appeared on the coverage map of velcom 2.5G.

New base stations were installed near Industrialnaya, Melezh Streets and Pobeditelei Avenue, Minsk, as well as Vesennyaya Street, Mogilev. To provide agricultural towns with telecommunication a base station was installed in the settlement of Mezhany, Braslav district, Vitebsk region.

Works on improvement of the coverage of highways P28 near the settlement of Sosnovy Bor, Molodechno district, Minsk region, and P3 nearby to the settlement of Shvaby, Logoisk district, Minsk region, were also performed.

According to the data as of May 31, 2010 3284 base stations and 28548 transceivers in 1355 settlements of the country are in operation in velcom network.
